When the Ford Raptor hit showroom floors in late 2009, sales far exceeded expectations. The original 5.4L V8 grew up into the standard 6.2L in 2011, making 411 horsepower and 434 lb-ft torque. While the new king of off-road was quite the crowd pleaser in its stock form, the aftermarket community wasted no time in coming out with parts and accessories to make it bigger and badder. Hennessey Performance even went as far as creating a Hennessey VelociRaptor SUV upgrade, with the option of a 6.7L Power Stroke diesel pushing 440 horsepower and 880 lb-ft torque.
As we near the end of 2016, Ford shows no intentions of slowing down. With the debut of the new 2017 Raptor with a 3.5L twin-turbo V6, those of us in the aftermarket community can’t waste any time in making products to please the new eager owners of this beast of a machine.
