Back to the Future: Pedal Commander Edition

Great Scott! Roads? Where we're going, we don’t need roads... But a Pedal Commander would be excellent.”

If you’re a fan of the classic “Back to the Future” trilogy, you’ve probably imagined yourself behind the wheel of the DeLorean, hitting 88 miles per hour and watching the world around you warp into a blur as you rocket through time. What if Dr. Brown had something even more incredible than the flux capacitor to get that iconic DeLorean to be zoomed outatime? Let's get this iconic duo leveled up with a Pedal Commander.

The DeLorean: A Legendary Ride... or Is It?

It would not be amiss to say that the DeLorean DMC-12 is virtually synonymous with iconic movie vehicles. With its gull-wing doors and brushed steel body with no paint on, the DeLorean DMC-12 is undeniably cool. However, let's be fair. The DeLorean was never a car characterized by its speed or excellent maneuverability in the real world. But what if Marty McFly has a little extra help dealing with the calamity that Dr. Brown’s meddling put him into?

Imagine this: Marty McFly jumps into the DeLorean, and instead of struggling with the outdated throttle response and its non-linear change over the pedal, he winks at Dr. Brown and turns the Pedal Commander on to the ‘Sport+.’ Without any delay, the DeLorean starts up with the heart of the lion (or a high-powered flux capacitor, if you will). Now, when Marty has to get up to that momentous 88 miles per hour to get away from Biff Tannen and his thugs, he is not only using 1.21 gigawatts of power and a throttle response so aggressive that it slices through the very fabric of time.

Doc Brown’s face as Marty explains the Pedal Commander to him. "Marty! You mean to tell me this little device improves throttle response, enhances acceleration, and makes any car feel like a rocket ship? Why didn't I think of that? It's so simple! And who needs plutonium when you’ve got this bad boy?" With wide eyes and wild hair, Dr. Brown might even consider throwing out the old flux capacitor, deeming the Pedal Commander the real key to time travel.

    The Biff Challenge

But let me not leave it at all.  Now, just try to picture Biff Tannen, the film's biggest villain, who constantly threatens and attempts to catch McFly. In the first movie, his old Ford had no chance against the DeLorean, who traveled with Dr. Emmett Brown in the space-time continuum. But in our parallel universe, Biff has a Pedal Commander as well. He thinks he’s got the edge now, but he’s forgotten one thing: Marty is a typical example of how someone can effectively deal with bullying.

While Biff attempts to accelerate in "City" Mode, Marty switches his Pedal Commander to "Sport+" Mode with a cheeky look on his face. The DeLorean drifts effortlessly through traffic, quickly passing Biff's muscle car. Meanwhile, Biff is sitting in traffic jams, cursing his pedal, wondering why it doesn't get the same respect.

The Real Back to the Future

Okay, so the Pedal Commander won’t tow you back in time like this invention does in the movie (yet), but it will make your car as exciting as the DeLorean from “Back to the Future.”. Of course, an improved throttle response, quicker acceleration, and adjustable modes are the closest to time-warping speed without needing 1.21 gigawatts of power.

So, whether you’re trying to make it to work on time (without traveling to 1985) or just want to experience what it feels like to be behind the wheel of a car that can "outrun" time, the Pedal Commander is your perfect sidekick. Well, who is predicting that there will be flying cars in the future, and maybe even the Pedal Commander will become as routine as hoverboards and shoes that tie themselves?

Until then, just remember Dr. Brown’s sage advice: “The future is yours, so make it faster with one Pedal Commander!"

Now, hit the road, but don’t forget: *Where we’re going, we still don’t need roads—but a Pedal Commander? Absolutely, yes!
